Boca Raton, FL – The Coastal Stewards,  a nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to the protection and study of marine life and the coastal ecosystem, announced today that Nija Peterkin will be joining the team as Director of Retail and Sustainability. Peterkin replaces Jean Deluca, who retired this month.
In this role, Peterkin is responsible for overall management and operation of The Coastal Stewards Gift Store located at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton as well as online. Peterkin will support the overall mission of The Coastal Stewards by offering sustainable merchandise and education to inspire change in customers’ everyday purchasing and product use decisions.

Resources process, finance and budget. Prior to joining The Coastal Stewards, Peterkin held leadership positions at Badcock Furniture, Dollar Tree Stores, and JCPenney. He received an MBA from Nova Southeastern University. Â
